Ama-no-iwado is a legendary area where it is said that Amaterasu-omikami (the goddess of the sun) secluded herself. Adjacent to the forest owned by Ise-Jingu shrine, the water trickling out of the water hole is selected as one of the “100 best waters of Japan.”
In front of Ama-no-iwado stands a large Oshima-zakura cherry blossom with the circumference of 67cm which will be in full bloom during spring time.
