Selected and designated as one of the top 100 cultural/historical fishery related assets by the Fishery Agency, MAFF in 2006. This man-made Channel, connecting Ago Bay and the Pacific, was completed in 1932, introduces seawater of the Pacific to the Bay and has been used by the fishing boats to commute between two seas.
