Mugisaki Lighthouse

A place to listen to Ama divers' whistle

The southernmost point of Shima Town, Shima City. The Pacific Ocean stretches out, and Fuseda Kojima and Wagu Oshima can be seen.
The lighthouse has a chalk exterior and watches over ships navigating the Fuseda Channel.
During the ama fishing season, it is well known as a place where the whistles of ama divers can be heard as they catch their breath.

Public Transportation: Approximately 40 minutes from Kintetsu Ugata Station by Mie Kotsu Bus bound for Goza Port. 30 minutes walk from Katada Bus Stop.
Car: Due to the lack of parking space, we ask that you use public transportation (or park anywhere nearby for as short as you can to avoid disturbing locals).
