This museum collects materials that have been preserved in facilities in the city for the purpose of passing them on to the next generation as assets of Shima City. The main materials stored and exhibited at the museum include artifacts excavated from ruins and burial mounds in the city, the important intangible folk cultural properties "Isobe no Omita" and "Anori's Puppet Show," and other folk materials related to festivals, livelihood, and daily life in the city, and a chronological table of Shima's history.
