Ama huts are places for divers to rest their tired bodies from fishing and to warm themselves by a
fire.
They enjoy spending time around the fire place located in the center of the hut, warming themselves,
eating, and chatting.

At the divers' hut experience facility Satomian, you can enjoy fresh seafood such as lobsters,
abalones, and turban shells caught in the sea of Ise-Shima and "tekonezushi," a local dish of Shima,
while listening to a story about divers' fishing, which is usually hard to hear.
Freshly caught turban shell (2 pcs)*, freshly caught turban shell (1 pc), fresh squid (1 pc), dried fish
(2 kinds), miso soup with local aosa seaweed, hijiki no kamameshi (rice cooked in a pot with hijiki
mushrooms) (White rice can also be prepared).

It is one of the most famous local dishes in the Shima region. It is said that it was originally an
improvised lunch box for fishermen, which consisted of vinegared rice seasoned with soy sauce and
sprinkled with bonito fillets and condiments, then kneaded by hand and eaten.

Ise-Shima is the home of Ise lobsters. The resilient and firm meat is the best in terms of sweetness
and flavor.
Natural abalone from Shima, carefully picked one by one by divers, is synonymous with high-class
